Blizzard rumored to be working on a new unannounced game

Blizzard is rumored to have an unannounced new game in development. This is on top of its survival-based project.

Jez Corden from Windows Central made the claim on the Xbox Two odcast (opens in new tab). Corden stated that he expected Blizzard’s survival-based game to be revealed last week.

This suggests that Blizzard may have an unannounced game that it is still working on but isn’t ready to reveal. It’s not clear what this mysterious game might be, so Corden isn’t going to give any further details.

Blizzard revealed last week that a new game was being developed in a new universe. This is a departure from the worlds and characters of Overwatch, Diablo or World of Warcraft. Although the new game does not yet have a name, it is clearly early days for this project. However, Blizzard confirmed that it will be survival-based for consoles and PC.

It is not clear what consoles these could be. Earlier this month, Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard for a staggering $69 billion USD, making it immediately possible that some previously-multiplatform games could be exclusive to Xbox consoles. However, Microsoft has promised to keep existing communities such as the Call of Duty player base, , together across multiple platforms and on PC.
