DC will offer Wonder Woman tattoos this spring – but don’t worry, they’re temporary
DC will offer three temporary tattoos in the forthcoming’Test of the Amazons‘crossover event with the Wonder Woman comics.
The three temporary tattoos are representative of the three Amazonian tribes that have dominated DCU history: the Themyscirans and the Bana-Mighdall.
DC will not offer tattoos for sale separately. Instead, comic book shops will receive the tattoos based on the orders they placed for the first three chapters of the “Trial of the Amazons” crossover. The tattoo units will be matched to each store’s order for each issue. This rounding will take place because the tattoos are sold in 25-packs. These are the main issues:
- The Themysciran Tattoo is paired with Trial for the Amazons #1 (March 1).
- The Bana-Mighdall Tatoo is paired up with Nubia and The Amazons #6 (March 8).
- The Esquecida is paired with Wonder Woman 785 (March 15, 2015)
Here are the tattoos in alphabetical order
The Themyscirans, also known as Paradise Island, are the iconic Amazons from Wonder Woman TV, film, and comics. They are a group made up of female warriors related to Greek mythology. Hippolyta and Nubia are two of the most well-known characters in this group.
The Bana-Mighdall, an offshoot from the Themyscirans who renounced allegiances to the Greek mythological hierarchy in favor of their own civilisation in Egypt, are the Bana-Mighdall. Antiope and Artemis are the most well-known Bana-Mighdall.
The Esquecida is a group made up of Amazons that split over Hippolyta’s rulership of Themyscira. They then set up shop in the Amazon Rainforest. They were able to blend with the local population over centuries but are still secretive in DCU, and even among their fellow Amazonian tribes. Yara Flor (Wonder Girl), is the Esquecida’s primary representative in comics.
