F1 22 Gets More Authentic With PS5 DualSense Features

Fans who have been savoring all the content and underlying systems that F1 22 will bring to the racer now have another reason to celebrate if they’re playing on the PS5. The dual-sensor-generaled racers will enjoy an immersive driving experience detailed on the PlayStation blog.

The stars of the show are DualSense’s adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. It’s all about the game, as Steven Embling, Senior Game Designer, shares.

The PS5 dual-Sense Haptics have greatly improved the sensation of collision and surface discomfort. This allows you communicate large pieces of debris and creates an immersive experience that represents the car on the track.

This additional information can also be used to provide direction. You can sense the F1 22 direction if you are at a kerb to the side of the car.

The resistance will be attached directly to the slip ratios of your tyres by the adaptive triggers. The brake trigger will increase resistance when the car is braking. This creates an immersive connection.

Even when wheelspin occurs, the resistance to the accelerator trigger increases. To simulate the pressure required to fully depress both the accelerator and brake pedals in real F1 cars, the difference in resistance to the accelerator trigger and brake trigger has been used.

Dual-Sense will also be useful during F1 22. Players can hear their race engineer providing advice and feeding them vital information. This will help players track important data that will propel them to victory.

It’s great to see games take full advantage of all the technology available on the various consoles. DualSense will be a new experience for PS5 gamers, with F1 22 coming on July 1.
