Halo Infinite is rumored to be getting a new “newcomer-friendly” multiplayer mode
Halo Infinite may soon get a new multiplayer mode that is “newcomer-friendly,” according to co-developer Certain Affinity.
According to an industry insider, Jez Corden from Windows Central (opens in new tab),, Certain Affinity co-developer of Halo Infinite is currently working on a new multiplayer mode. It is codenamed “Tatanka”.
The rumored new multiplayer game mode is also described as being more “newcomer-friendly”, and not as competitive or demanding as the pre-existing modes. Corden claims that the new mode will be “integrated into Halo Infinite’s Forge mode” and “feature player-created content.”
Corden’s sources say that the new Halo Infinite mode will “also leverage existing cosmetics from Halo Infinite multiplayer progression, while possibly having a new progression mechanism of its own.”
It seems that Certain Affinity is busy these days. Just a few days back, it was revealed that the studio is currently developing a Monster Hunter-inspired title on Xbox. Grubbsnax podcast host Jeff Grub and Jez Corden claim that this project is codenamed “Project Suerte” and it is “a Monster Hunter-inspired game for Xbox.” This implies big monster battles with multiplayer gameplay.
Certain Affinity would not be surprised to work on an Xbox project. The Texas-based studio has been working closely with Microsoft since 2007. It has been involved in developing a number of Halo titles as well as Call of Duty titles. It’s not just this, however. Certain Affinity has its own games as well. These include RTS Age of Booty (2008) and an ARPG Crimson Alliance (2008).
