Here’s your first look at Ryan Gosling as Ken in Margot Robbie’s Barbie movie
We now have an image of Ryan Gosling playing Ken, Margot Robbie’s Barbie .
Gosling was seen wearing an open-denim jacket with blue jeans, which shows off his un-hairy chest. His boxers, branded “Ken” in the Calvin Klein style, are visible. Gosling’s bleach blonde hair is slightly less sexy than his look in The Place Beyond the Pines. See the complete image below.
Barbie will be appearing on the big screen next Summer. The live-action movie has been released at 7:21 p.m. (the same day that Christopher Nolan’s next movie Oppenheimer). If you want to double your fun,
Greta Gerwig will direct Barbie, her first movie since 2019’s Little Women. In 2017, she made her directorial debut as a solo director with lady bird. This movie starred Saoirse Roan as the title role, and earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Director. Gerwig co-wrote the Barbie script along with Noah Baumbach, her frequent collaborator.
Gerwig’s new movie will feature Robbie and Gosling alongside an all-star cast. Simu Liu, a Shang-Chi actor, will be starring alongside Ugly Betty’s America Ferrera’s Kate McKinnon and Ncuti Gatwa, as well as Sex Education’s Emma Mackey and Emma Mackey. Will Ferrell is also part of the movie’s supporting cast. He plays the CEO at a toy firm (which may or not be Barbie manufacturer Mattel).
Filming is underway at the moment, but details about the plot are being kept secret. The Hollywood Reporter (opens in new window) says that the movie will include a meta element. We imagine Ferrell will play some part in this.
