Jason Momoa reportedly in talks to join Fast and Furious 10 cast as villain

According to a report, Fast and Furious 10 could have Jason Momoa play one of its villainous leads.

The Hollywood Reporter (opens in new window) reported that Aquaman’s star is in talks with Vin Diesel to play opposite him in what’s being called the penultimate episode of the action series. Early indications suggest that Diesel could play one of the main antagonists. Although details are still scarce, it would place Momoa alongside Charlize Theron as Cipher against the Toretto family.

As Fast and Furious has grown, it has amassed a formidable list of high-profile talent. Momoa’s casting is especially notable given Vin Diesel’s high profile clashes with Dwayne Johnson, who was the star and executive producer of Fast Five. Johnson stated to CNN (opens in a new tab), that Diesel tried to court him back. This may have pushed the Fast & Furious franchise stewards to finally agree to replace Johnson’s absence in star power and physical stature.

Fast and Furious 10 will still begin filming this spring. Its release date is May 19, 2023, after a recent delay that pushed it back from April.
