Netflix released a trailer for Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Leatherface is back.

This movie, the ninth in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre series, is a direct sequel of the 1974 original. Sally Hardesty, who is the only survivor from Leatherface’s murder spree in the 1970s movie, is back, and John Larroquette returns to his role as the story’s narration.

Sally will be played this time by Olwen Fouere. Marilyn Burns was the original actor of the character. After Gunnar Hansen’s death in 2015, Leatherface will now be played by Mark Burnham. After Gunnar Hansen’s death in 2015, Mark Burnham is now playing Leatherface.

Alvarez stated recently that the first movie “really hit a nerve” when it depicted the culture clash between the city and the countryside. (opens in new tab). The hippies represented the city’s youth back in the 1970s. They’re now more like the millennial hipsters of Austin, who are entrepreneurial and dream of moving away from the city to the country. They are trying to revitalize small-town America, and they face some resistance.

David Blue Garcia directed the movie. Fede Alvarez, Rodo Sayagues and Rodo Sayagues co-wrote and produced the film. They previously collaborated on horror films Evil Dead, and Don’t Breathe.
