In a press release, Nick Lowe, Marvel’s Spider-Man group editor and the company’s executive editors, stated that Queen Goblin was “one of the most innovative ideas from our ‘Beyond’ story summit.” “All the writers were discussing the character and concept, and when Pat Gleason worked on the design, we all lost it. This is the newest addition to Spidey’s rogue’s gallery.

Gleason is both a writer andan art on the Amazing Spider-Man team. says that this Queen Goblin design was ‘New-Medieval.

Gleason is unique in that he participates in Amazing Spider-Man as an artist , and a writer. He’s actually writing Amazing Spider-Man #89 with Mark Bagley and then drawing Amazing Spider-Man #190.

Gleason says, “When Nick asked me to assist with character design for Queen Goblin of ‘Beyond”, I was delighted.” “We went New-Medieval, with some tweaks to the old Goblin toys. It’s even better to let her loose from the chain and watch the rest of her art team, like Arthur Adams, run alongside her. Her debut has been made possible by the hard work of the writing team. “I’m now writing a scene that will hopefully melt some minds too.”
