Modern Warfare II campaign will be revealed during summer game competition event

Next week will see the live broadcast of the first Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 game, which will also be displayed at the summer game fest.

Geoff Keighley hosted Summer Game Fest 2022, a pseudo-replacement of E3, where many publishers and developers will showcase their upcoming titles. This is not a change by Activision. Here’s a closer look at the previous year’s CoD.

MWII’s official release will take place on Wednesday, June 8. Activision will likely drop a trailer, then the campaign reveal on June 9, and then a stream of multiplayer reveal streams at a later time this summer.

This year’s CoD title is a sequel to 2019’s Modern Warfare reboot. It features many new characters from that game. Ghost and Captain Price are back. These characters were popular in the original Modern Warfare game published in 2007 and 2009. They were also featured in the 2011 games.

Rumours and leaks indicate that the game will include multiplayer and a third mode. This reminds me of Escape from Tarkov. Warzone 2 is in development. It should be available as a standalone battle royale game sometime after MWII.

Modern Warfare II will be available for purchase on October 28th.
