PS5 is the only surviving unit in all nations in the world and is already sold
Sony has confirmed that the PlayStation 5 has sold over 20 million units around the globe. The last major milestone reached by the PlayStation 5 was 19,3 millions units shipped on March 31, 2022. Veronica Rogers, SVP Global Sales and Business Operations, at SIE, stated that she was excited to announce that more than 20,000,000 Xbox 5 consoles have been sold worldwide.
Our teams have worked hard since the launch of the PS5 to create a next-generation gaming console that has been embraced by the masses. We want to thank our fans for their support. We are driven by your passion for the PlayStation brand and it inspires us to invent new technologies, build the future of gaming and continue to make the PlayStation a great place to play.
Rogers said that demand is a concern. He added that we plan to increase production of PS5 consoles this year and that we will be working with the entire project to ensure that PlayStation 5 is available to everyone who needs it.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, supply problems have been a problem for the company. The original plan was for the PS5’s second year of sales to surpass that of the PS4. The shortage prevented this from happening, but Sony plans to close the gap in year three of the PS5. This will be achieved by taking measures such as a flexible approach in unstable market conditions, continued logistical negotiations, and a better PS5 delivery method.
In less than two years, the company sold 20 million units. Keep an eye out for the next months to see if the company can remain relevant.
