Agent ShenXiu is set to arrive to the scene with Dying Light 2 patch 1.5 in “a couple weeks,” and Techland announces that it will be beginning an update every 3-4 months.
Dying Light 2 patch 1.5 is expected to be released in the next few weeks and will include a seasonally themed chapter that will add a brand new player to the open-world games of zombies. Although developer Techland hasn’t announced what else it will add to the upcoming update but Techland has shed details about the approach it’s using to release its seasonal content, and the way it differs from battle passes that are found on other game titles.
The most recent video in Dying Light 2’s “At the Fisheye” video series is a conversation with Chapter Game Designer Karol Langier talking about chapters and the ways Techland plans to utilize chapter games in order to maintain Dying Light 2 looking fresh. In many cases seasons-based content in other games is released but then disappears when the next season kicks off. For Dying Light 2, he states that the goal is to introduce elements that are available throughout the duration in the game.
This means that you’ll be able to take on job offers and other bounties from Harper 5 years from today, Langier says, and it will be the same for the chapter’s next agent Shen Xiu. The chapter 2 debuts in the coming months, Xiu is known as “the Huntress as well as an experienced tracker who has special duties for Nightrunners from Villedor.
This new installment will include more missions bounties, enemies and weapons. Techland claims it will be unveiling more details about over the next few weeks.
The studio plans to launch new chapters at a rate that is roughly one each three or four months. Chapter releases will bring new features in Dying Light 2 between major DLC launch, and will be accompanied by regular, more frequent updates (with bugs fixed, tweaks as well as other tweaks).
