The Marvels and Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania are swapping theatrical release dates
Two forthcoming Marvel movies have changed release dates. Marvel Studios has announced that The Marvels will be moved by a couple of months and is set to release in theaters on July 27 2023. The film features an appearance by Brie Larson in the role of Carol Danvers, joined by Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau aka Photon and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel in her latest film. Nia DaCosta directs.
While the Marvels take an arc backwards, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania jumps forward some months. Ant-Man’s third film in the theatrical series is a leap an extra month over the Marvels date of release timeframe of February 15th 2023. The film will again feature Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, and Michelle Pfeiffer. In addition to them, the cast includes Kathryn Newton and Jonathan Majors. Peyton Reed is directing for the third time.
The motivation behind Marvel’s decision lies in that production on Ant-Man as well as Wasp: Quantumania is in the process of becoming more sophisticated. The filming process began following several delays to coronas in the summer of the previous year. This sequel of Ant-Man was released in July, and was completed by close to the beginning of July and the film The Marvels began to roll in August, at the close of the month.
