The next Next To The Last of Us will be a multiplayer-exclusive game
There’s good news but bad news our Last Fans.
We’re happy to have discovered that Factions will be a game of its own. We’ll have to wait a while before we begin playing.

The positive thing is Naughty Dog confirmed the long-rumored multiplayer game. The bad news is that the next game in the TLOU series isn’t an independent multiplayer game and is consistent with reports from the past.
As per Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann, the studio has been working on a multiplayer spin-off in the last two years. The multiplayer game is “as big as any of our single-player games, and in some ways bigger.” We also found out that the multiplayer game has distinct storyline and will take place in what appears to be San Francisco (The Last of Us is set at Boston, Utah, Texas and Wyoming).
Unfortunately, that’s the only thing Druckmann was able to talk about the game up to next year.

Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us was a very well-liked multiplayer game. When the primary screen of the original game had multi-player modes like Factions and the follow-up was designed to feature the same feature. However it was discovered that, as Naughty Dog had to find out during the development process the multiplayer component was able to be a stand-alone feature this is the reason the add-on evolved into an independent spin-off. The game will be live-streamed by Sony using the live-service concept and will be available on Sony’s website until 2026.
Naturally, as it’s official now and we’re eager to know more about The Last of Us in the process of development.
