Tony Hawk says Plans for more remasters were Canceled by Activision

Vicarious Visions and Activision released Pro Skater 1 and 2 (both the new and old games). Many people believed that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 or Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 would receive similar treatment. At the moment, it is what was intended to be the plan. Tony Hawk, who appeared on Twitch with AndyTHPS and Twitch, confirmed that new remake plans had been scrapped after Vicarious Visions merged into Blizzard Entertainment. Hawk claims that Activision heard pitches from a number of other studios, but didn’t like any of them and that was it.

Many Activision fans were upset by the merger of Vicarious Visions and Blizzard Entertainment. Vicarious Visions was responsible for the creation of Pro Skater 1+2 in London, as well as a Trilogy for Crash Bandicoot N. Sane which was a highly-received remaster. The developer now focuses on Overwatch and World of Warcraft, as a result of the merger. It seems that the new Tony Hawk game is coming soon. However, Tony Hawk’s new comments seem to be fine.

All that could change with Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard. Although the publisher’s focus has been on major properties such as Call of Duty, Phil Spencer, the boss of Activision Blizzard has stated that he would like to support some of Activision’s forgotten franchises. The publisher has several games that need to be revived, and the Tony Hawk series is a solid candidate. Fans will have to wait and watch how things unfold.
